Job Summary
Gordon West Public School is situated on Sydney's North Shore. GWPS has 461 students enrolled in 2024 with 65% of students from a language background other than English.
The school has strong community support which is integral to our success. The school's robust community partnerships are reflected in many initiatives and learning opportunities. Gordon West is involved in a variety of innovative projects across a broad spectrum of the curriculum. These include an extensive creative and performing arts program involving dance groups, bands and choirs, a strong sporting focus and a keen interest in promoting student wellbeing.

About the role
Expressions of interest are invited to fill a temporary full-time Year 6 teacher position to join our supportive and professional teaching team beginning from Term 2, 2024.
Role criteria
- Approval to teach K-6 with the ability to develop and deliver high quality, differentiated and data-driven literacy and numeracy programs to improve student outcomes.
- Highly developed and effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of an enthusiastic and collaborative whole school team, building positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
- Excellent classroom management skills and an ability to develop a positive classroom learning environment to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
- An ability to contribute to school initiatives and extra-curricular activities to strengthen school culture and engage students.
