Willoughby , New South Wales

We are looking for a qualified and/or suitably experienced special education teacher to cover our IM support class for Terms 3 and 4.Currently, the class has an enrolment of 8 students, ranging from Year 3 to Year 6. They primarily work on individualised learning plans and have access to a full-time teacher and a dedicated full-time school learning support officer (SLSO) who assists in their education. Our IM students integrate into mainstream classes for certain subjects, and take part in all whole school and grade specific events. They share recess and lunch playtimes with their mainstream peers, reinforcing their connection to the broader WPS community.Their regular teacher has sustained an injury over the Christmas school holidays, and her recovery has been slower than anticipated. As a result, the IM class has been covered by two exceptional teachers on term contracts this year. We are now seeking a single teacher to provide continuity and stability for our students for the remainder of the year. The successful candidate will be offered opportunities to meet the class and work alongside the current teacher before the end of the term, if possible, to facilitate a smooth transition. Please contact Mr Shaun Michaeil, Deputy Principal for more information about the class and the position.
