As an I Can Read teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring and educating young minds. You will deliver engaging English literacy lessons to children aged 3 to 12, following the structured I Can Read curriculum.Responsibilities:Conduct small group classes (maximum 5 students per class) following the I Can Read program and lesson plans.Create a positive, supportive, and interactive learning environment.Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback to both students and parents.Foster a love for reading and learning through engaging teaching methods.Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom.Collaborate with the team to maintain high educational standards.Requirements:A passion for teaching and working with children.Experience teaching young learners (aged 3-12) is preferred.Strong command of English, both written and spoken.Patience, creativity, and adaptability in a classroom setting.Teaching qualifications (e.g., Bachelor of Education, TESOL, or equivalent) are advantageous.Ability to work part-time, including weekend availability (our operating hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am-5:30pm, and Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm).Working Time:Weekdays (During School Terms): 2:30 pm to 7:30 pmWeekends: 9:00 am to 7:30 pmSchool Holidays (Weekdays Only): 10:00 am to 4:00 pmPlease note that flexibility to work on weekends and during school holidays is required.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate.Comprehensive training in the I Can Read methodology.Supportive and professional team environment.Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s literacy and language skills.To Apply:Please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in teaching at I Can Read Macquarie Park. 39 students. We have a strong focus on high-quality literacy and numeracy
teaching to small groups of students at their point-of-need. Our four full-time
teaching staff each teach literacy and numeracy groups of between 5-15 students.
Our school is very well-resourced and has excellent facilities for teaching and
learning. Staff are supported in their professional practice and development in
a friendly and collegial work environment. 

About the Role

We are seeking two flexible educators to
team teach with our highly experienced K-2 and 3-6 class teachers. The roles
will entail a mixture of small-group literacy and numeracy teaching in the
classroom environment, and whole-class (K-2 or 3-6) teaching in
HSIE/SciTech/PDHPE/Creative Arts. The roles may be filled full- or part-time, by negotiation, from 0.6-1.0FTE. The positions are for Semester 2, with the possibility of extension.

Experienced teachers please note that an internal
EOI will be offered for a temporary 0.2 FTE Assistant Principal Curriculum and
Instruction for Semester 2, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Selection criteria

§  Approval to teach K-6, with demonstrated experience in planning and
delivering differentiated programs that positively impact student outcomes,
with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy.

§  Demonstrated high-level classroom management skills and the proven
ability to create safe and positive learning environments that enhance student
engagement, including students with additional needs.

§  Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the
demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with staff, students, parents, and
the wider community to contribute to a positive, cohesive school culture.
