The Bowen College was opened in February 2018 and provides education for young people who are either disengaged or at risk of becoming disengaged from mainstream education. The Bowen College is a special assistance independent school based in Maroubra. The College operates as a registered Non-Government School and is a member of the Association of Independent Schools, NSW. The school’s learning programs comply with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and Australian Curriculum mandatory course requirements for Year 9-10 of schooling, with a strong emphasis on providing meaningful and engaging learning. Students work towards being eligible for their RoSA, then to progress to Year 11, re-enter into mainstream and/or transition into vocational training or employment. Our school programs aim to empower young people with learning strategies to make informed decisions towards creating a positive future.
