Northern Sydney Intensive English Centre (at St Ives High School) is a specialist regional ESL centre which prepares newly-arrived high school aged migrant students for high school study in public high schools in the North of Sydney.
Our students study KLA subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, HSIE, CAPA with a focus on the language and text types in the subjects. Typically students study with us for 2 - 3 terms before going on to over 36 different high schools. We currently (T41, 2024) have 248 students in 18 classes. Our student numbers are increasing rapidly.
