Situated in the suburb of Horningsea Park, John Edmondson High School has a diverse drawing area that includes the recently developed suburbs of Horningsea Park and Greenway Park and the semi-rural and rural areas of Austral, Bringelly, Leppington and Rossmore.

The school has been constructed under the Private Public Partnership program. A facilities management company is responsible for properties, maintenance, cleaning and security.
