Carenne is a school for specific purposes located in the Bathurst School Education Group.
The school provides an appropriate and full education for students aged 4 to 18 years with moderate and severe intellectual, sensory, autism and multiple disabilities. The school operates on the principle that all children can learn and our primary focus is on developing skills and knowledge to improve students' personal independence and participation in activities available to all in the community.
Every student has an individual education program which determines their educational priorities, content and sequence of instruction. The student's individual education plan is prepared with the involvement of parents, teachers and outside agencies such as therapists to ensure consistent implementation in the school, the home and the community.
