Established in 1868, Bungendore Public School is an inclusive K-6 primary school setting built on the lands of the Ngunnuwal & Ngambri peoples. Situated within the growing, rural town of Bungendore on the outskirts of Canberra, the school caters to approximately 500 students, with around 3% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school currently has 20 mainstream classes and 1 supported learning class. The staff, students and community are committed to three core values: being respectful, being safe and being engaged. Through these values, Bungendore Public School prides itself on being a school focused on the development of children as confident and articulate young people, able to positively contribute as citizens in an ever-changing modern world. Bungendore Public School places a significant emphasis on building connections across our network of learning centres. Proudly part of the Weereewaa Community of Schools, we work to build strong, productive partnerships and share our collective efficacy with our neighbouring primary schools and Bungendore High School. Transition to school is heavily supported through our strong connection with the local early learning centres. The school works closely with parents and the wider community to create a friendly, fun and rich learning environment. Bungendore Public School fosters strong community partnerships, working closely with the AECG, Bungendore War Memorial Committee, CWA, Rotary, Lions and a multitude of other and local groups and businesses to enhance and enrich opportunities for the whole school community.
